Adam Johnson Joins City Revolution

Manchester City FC are delighted to confirm the signing of 22-year-old Adam Johnson.

Johnson signed from Middlesbrough just before the 5pm deadline on a four-and-a-half deal and will wear the number 11 shirt.

Johnson came on the scene aged 12 and has been at Boro for 10 years. He is a left winger who is capable of playing on the right wing known for his dribbling skills and free kicks.

'The Club is delighted to announce that Adam Johnson has joined us from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee after agreeing terms and passing a medical this afternoon.'

'The former England Under-21 winger, who has signed a contract until June 2014, steps straight into Roberto Mancini's squad against Hull on Saturday. He will wear the traditional No.11.'

'Manager Roberto Mancini said: 'We are delighted that Adam has chosen to come here. He is a very good player with fantastic potential, and as a club we are always keen to sign British talent.'

Really impressed when he's played for the U21's, got a proper engine in him, skilfull, not afraid to get stuck in. Best signing of this window by far, Welcome to Manchester Adam!

I'm chuffed. He's a good young prospect with a great work-ethic. A short term cover for Robi (hopefully) and a long term replacement for rigsby.

saw the interview on the OS site and the lad seems very grounded - he can also play both left and right wing which is fantastic aswell as fitting in with the new ruling next season.
