Reddish Blues Meeting Update & Report

Howard Burr aka T.I.M sent Vital Manchester City the following report.

What a great night we had at Reddish Blues...there must have been 200+ who turned out in the snow...yes it was snowing yet again!!

In the afternoon I got a call from Rosie Bass and I thought #hit they're (SWP & Garrido) not coming, nothing of the sort, Rosie wanted to know if I had any objection if Dickie Davis from Sky came along with a film crew to interview Garrido, a few City fans and film some of the meeting for broadcasting on Soccer Saturday...no objection from me at all (well it would be rude to wouldn't it??.

So we've got great guests lined up plus Sky TV, City's Website film crew what could go wrong...the players were late due to the snow...but there are never any problems just opportunities!!

We ceased the moment to introduce Carl Tilson who gave an excellent speech about his campaign...what a top guy!! The Sky and City Website film crews were going around interviewing people as the tension and expectations were growing...they got more footage then they had hoped for and were well chuffed to say the least.

Then the moment arrived, about 45 minutes late but who cared they're heroes in Sky Blue had arrived to a fantastic ear splitting reception - you had to be there to appreciate it but the hairs on the back of neck are standing up just writing this! (Well it wouldn't be on my head).

We started with a photo and signing session which lasted for over an hour, loads of kids (big ones as well as little ones) meeting up with their heroes signing shirts, books, posing for photos you name it nothing was too much trouble. This was what everyone had come for it would take as long as it takes...no rush...the lads just got on with it!

Then followed a shorter than planned Q&A for half an hour with some great questions especially from the kids. Both players were a credit to the Club and gave a great account of themselves.

The meeting closed about 10.00pm with everyone going home having enjoyed one of the best nights at a City meeting they'd ever had. The look on everyone's faces said it all, especially the kids...you'd have thought it was Christmas Day all over again.

The Sky coverage will be on Soccer Saturday this Saturday between 12noon and 3.00pm, City's website will have something on within the next week and I'll be getting the photos together over the weekend for downloading to the Reddish Blues website www.reddishblues.com next week.
