'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tévez Spells Out His Intentions

Having steered us past Wigan for only the second time in 10 Premier League clashes, Carlos Tévez today underlined his commitment to Manchester City FC and it's fans...

'I am very happy with the win and very happy for the team. It was important we won and important to score the goals for the fans because I play for the team.

Tévez's bond with the Blues was never more apparant than when after exquisitely wrapping up his hat-trick last night he piled into the stands to celebrate with the faithful earning himself a booking in the process!

'All the goals I have got are for the fans and the team. It feels great to be here and get all this support when I am on the pitch.'

Diego Maradona on Tévez:

'The Argentine prophet for the 21st century.'

I think he has reached it, I cannot remember another striker scoring so many goals in one season for simply ages, I just wish someone else would chip in with the odd goal or two.
