The City, Spurs & Liverpool Dogfight

Vital Manchester City received the following from Trevor Jacobs.

Manchester City

The race is on - can City prove they have what it takes to be serious Champions League contenders especially with Spurs breathing fiercely down their necks, and of course Liverpool battling hard to live up to their high expectations.

With six games remaining, City certainly has the edge over the rest of the contenders - Carlos Tevez, City's lucky jewel is most definitely the 'man of the moment'. Did you know the Blues have never lost while the Argentinean has been on the score sheet (Premier League) this season?

Coming straight off a 6-1 win over relegation certainties, Burnley, the confidence will be running riot in the City camp. In addition, I think we have enough players to fill the hole left by injuries hence, in my opinion, Roberto Mancini's side look certain to finish 4th.

Liverpool

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, who has netted six times in the last seven games has cast a shadow over the Anfield lot and in doing so recently said that Liverpool's season was doomed from the start. Even Gerrard admitted that he is yet to find top form, (could this form come within the next six games?). Oh and Liverpool's chances of securing investment from the Rhone Group appears to have ended after the club missed the deadline to complete discussions. Liverpool's answer to their financial problems could lay in finishing in the top 4, so yes; this race is most definitely on.

Spurs

Tottenham are still in contention for the FA Cup with King 'arry Redknapp eyeing silverware, and even Mr Cockney himself is still hopeful of finding that illusive key to next seasons Champions League.

Dawson, Lennon (almost fit) Jenas, Woodgate all sat out of training yesterday - seems like Harry has some injury concerns on his hand especially with a string of difficult games to come.

The race / dogfight, however you want to describe it most definately on.

Going down to the wire. No two ways about it. Fernando, get that train ticket to Manchester, mate. July will do.

Lennon is back for us. The encounter between you lot and us will be defining. I wish you good luck even if you payed it !

city are favourites, then liverpool. Sadly for me, just cant see spurs doing with their current injuries and fixture list. Really need to beat you at your place but its a big ask. If its not us, then i hope city do it. Just because of the damage that will do to liverpool. excellent.

Come on fernando, you know it makes sense son. As for the race, between us and spurs. But it's ours to lose and i can't wait for the game at eastlands.

Its a difficult call. Watching City against Wigan for three quarters of the match they looked lifeless an stiff (especially Viera) Tevez comes to the recue with great goals at the right time as he did that night and at Stamford Bridge. With Tevez around City will alwasy have a chance. Spurs away at Man City over the years has been a fixture most Spurs fans relish and this years game will be the decider I think.

As a Liverpool fan, I can say quite honestly that it is over. Finished. Man City will be 4th. End of story. While Im gutted, Liverpool have no devine right to be in the top 4. No club does, you must earn it. We havnt earned it this season. We just need to dust ourselves down and go for it again next season.

Great stuff, rival nail biters!

its to close to call, every one has tough games coming up, but Arse Chavski Manure and City is a very hard run in for Spurs. even so I think it could come down to the last game before its decided and in the mean time I must go practice my Wembley songs ;-)

I would say City need 11 from 18 pts which if achieved would most likely be 9 from Brum, West Ham and Villa, and 2 from United and Spurs, you never know there might be something at Arsenal as well.
arthur7171
Either way you look at it, its going to the wire and looking at the run ins who ever gets will deserves it and should actually be able to compete in it!! So good luck to all of you and lets pray the goons dont win the lge!!! COYS!!
MullerTheYid
I thought Arsenal were bloody awful last night Muller. That Bendtner looks to have lead in his boots.
Johnny Baguette
Yeah Johnny he is litter, I know a few Goon fans and not one of them has ever said a good word about him!! To make it worse he claims he is going to be the best/top scorer in the prem with in a few years!! A dreamer me thinks!!!
MullerTheYid
Spot on. In all seriousness, he had about four chances to score last night and was all over the place. He made a right meal of the opener. And that Rosicky is pants.
Johnny Baguette
i'm kind of expecting spurs to beat arsenal next week because arsenal have so many injuries and aren't playing that great atm
arthur7171
Johny so we can agree he wont be in our dream teams next year : )!!@ ARTHUR i agree you never know as they could be classed as KEY players but serves Arse Wanger right for not splashing the cash and getting a squad! The only down side is we are with out Woody, Ledly, Daws, THudd, Lennon, Cudicini, Corluka and JJ at the mo although rumour has it a few might be training this week!! I would like to stop them winning the title tho but as much as they would like to stop us getting top 4!! There is going to be plenty of twists along the way yet 72 points looked the place to be but now it might be 69!! To be fair my biggest worry at the mo is Pompey this weekend, its a huge banana skin and for sycological reason we cant slip up, no pun intended!!
MullerTheYid
Bendtner has a myriad of faults, slower than a hedgehog on smack, an often appalling first touch. and often as not never in the danger area as much as a lad his size should be. In a lot of gooners opinion he is still a couple of seasons away from being good enough (if ever) to lead the line for a club like Arsenal. Having said all that, he scores goals. He has kept us in the chase til now. Unlike Defoe he's a team player, unlike Adebayor his workrate can never be questioned. He is very young, supremely confident and is at the right club to improve immeasurably in seasons to come. It seems ridiculous now but I believe him when he says he'll be a world class striker. He just has that naked ambition and determination to succeed. Ever watched him for Denmark? It's like a different player, he's a monster for them, but has never really replicated that at club level yet.
nikolaijns
Apart from that goal against sp*rs (who else?) where he ordered Wenger to sub him on, then stormed on the pitch in time for a corner and blam! battered it in with his nut to win the game. Sure you remember that one Muller? ;)
nikolaijns
the heart says Spurs ,the head says City/SPurs and the gut just tells me Liverpool
