'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Quote Of The Week: United In The Championship?

I don't normally have a dig at Stretford's finest, preferring to accentuate matters City but I couldn't help having a chuckle at a paragraph in last night's Manchester Evening News.

Now we all know that Darron Gibson scored a magnificent goal to set up a City-style false dawn at Old Trafford on Wednesday. Even I half wanted them to win because it meant them having to divide their playing resources between the Derby and the Champions League Semi Final.

Poor old Gibson was also very disappointed to the extent that he told the reading world that...

'We cannot lie down and let the whole season go. It is either that or we stand up and fight and go for the Championship'

Well, yes things are probably a little tight financially at the Theatre of Broken Dreams, and Mr Gibson may be from an Irish background, but does he not know what league he plays in? Mr Gibson there are 47000 Blue Mooners each week who would love to see your Club fighting for the Championship and the sooner the better, but please do not disrespect your Club and do gain some knowledge of how the football pyramid works!!

A tad particular there. In the fall out of that game I was more concerned that SAF got away with blatant xenophobia towards our German cousins - anyone else would be condemned but its ok for that bitter ball of bubbling bubonic blood.

"bitter ball of bubbling bubonic blood". I like it, I like it a lot. Might have to borrow that one SBSS!
