Wswilly3 sent us the following.
Do you know if we did actually achieve fourth place in the Premiership and if our wonderful owners really do want City to become the best team in the world, we all have to start thinking differently.
We have to start thinking success and success as soon as possible. We have to expect to win the Premiership next season and do extremely well in the Champions League, if not win it. No, I haven't taken to LSD or a surfeit of red wine. What I am saying is that as supporters we have to be as genuinely ambitious as our owners and throw of the self doubt that has been part and parcel of being a City fan of the past.
So let's talk transfer targets if we qualify for the Champions League. Forget young guns who have yet to prove themselves and play for second class teams. Forget the over thirties that have done it in the past and want one final pay day. We have to go for proven winners that have shown their ability to cut it at the top level in the Premiership and/or the Champions League and can perform immediately. Nothing else will do if you have the mindset I am suggesting. So the targets would have to be Fabregas, Torres, Gerard and even Rooney from the Premiership. They would include people like Messi, Schneider, Ribery, Iniesta and even Cristiano Ronaldo.
Oh yes, another thing, we have to get rid of as supporters is an inferiority complex of Manchester United and their players. In the New World Order, United will be like the Roman Empire, a thing of the past but if they had outstanding players then we will grab them for our own ambitions.
If you have already converted to the new mind set you don't ask whether they will come but how much will we have to pay them to come? It is called market forces and the players will want to come as they will get paid higher wages and be joining a team that WILL achieve SUCCESS.
So lads what I am saying is that this fourth place is not just important, it is hugely important as if we get it City will change and we the supporters will equally need to change our mindset as we will be the supporters of the team that is going to be the biggest and most successful in the World. You better believe it!!![]()
