'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mancio In Rallying Cry Against Delia Wannabees

City gaffer Roberto Mancini has called upon Eastlands to rock for this weekend's important derby clash with Manchester united...

Eloquently as ever, tapping into the Blue Manchester mood, the shrewd Italian told The Official Site:

'Supporters live for these games and look forward to them more than any other match each year. It is about passion and desire and results do not always go to form.

'Of course, this isn't just a game about local pride, we want to finish in fourth place and every match from now until the last will be just as important.

'We need our fans to keep doing what they do each week and get right behind the team from the first minute to the last. They can inspire us to even greater heights and they have a huge role to play against united.'

Following the disgraceful scenes that marred the rags first leg League Cup semi final defeat at Eastlands in January as united's Ratboys In Black confused snooker and darts with football, Greater Manchester Police is to step up security.

But by way of a VMC olive branch to Manchester united and the First Allied Corporation, if one of the Glazer family wishes to invade the pitch at half time to make their own rallying cry statement to their own fans should the rag empire continue to crumble, a precedent has already been set in matches involving defeat to Manchester City and it involves a look united supporters are working hard at trying to recreate this season led by Keith Harris, Orville The Duck and "The Barron Knights."

So Joel, Avi, Bryan and of course, 'Our Malc:' this one's for you:

It couldn't be better set up. We have to win to maintain 4th, place - they have to win to stay in conention for the league. Shrek will be rushed back but could be injured again for England - de Jong couldn't care less about that - Tevez wants to get one over on United - Garry Neville wants to get something over anyone - Steve Bennett likes using red cards. Bring it on and let us win!!!!
