'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rebecca..is it a City 'Firthst' ?

How pleasing is it to see Peter Ferguson's article on the Club's Official Website today confirming that Rebecca Firth has taken up her new post as Club Secretary?

I have known Rebecca since she started working in a temporary capacity for City and have often marvelled at the hard work she quietly puts in,(especially at transfer deadline time) working all hours of the day and sometimes more besides and if anybody was to follow Bernard then I for one am delighted that it is a 'City person' rather than some of the types of Secretary we see at other Clubs who sometimes have different agendas.

Keep up the great work Becki!!

As for Bernard, after years and years of his diligent hard work we see him take up the post of Life President and I think he is only the 2nd person to achieve that status, the other being Sydney Rose.

To say that Bernard is 'Mr Manchester City' is almost an understatement of the work that this extraordinary man has undertaken for our very special Football Club. He has often said that he has worked for City for however many years and on no day did he ever get up and think...'I don't fancy it today'. He couldn't wait to get to work.

He has also worked hard for charities and in helping Hyde United with fund raising events. What a great man.

I am sure that I speak for everybody concerned with VMC in wishing both of them much more of the best in their new roles.
