Message To Tottenham FC & Their Fans

Manchester City 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur (05/05/10). Congratulations go to Tottenham Hotspur FC and their fans for qualifying for next seasons Champions League.

Gracious in defeat

As a Manchester City supporter I have never said this before about another team but in the end and on the night Tottenham deserved the points and fourth position. As for doing well in the Champions League, well that's another and entirely different topic. In the end we (MCFC) missed out but we still qualify for the Europa League.

I have said this before and I'll happily say it again. The English Premier League is changing. The days of the usual suspects finishing, year after year in the top 4 are over. There are new kids on the block and THFC and MCFC are exactly that.

At the end of last season I predicted Arsenal would be the team who would struggle, but I was wrong, it was Liverpool who ended up the club in crisis. I wonder, out of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal who will be the ones who falter next season? I know who my money's on.

Congratulations Tottenham - you did it.

And the premiership has been great this year, the gap has closed between the top4 and the rest. You could argue Chelsea and Utd are still miles ahead, they probably are but both have aging squads and certainly Utd cant afford to splash the cash anymore. Theres nothing between City, Spurs, Liverpool and not much between Everton and Villa either. Whos to say both MCFC and THFC cannot go abit further next season and challenge for the title? We wont win it but it really isnt that far away anymore. All the best.

I don't feel I can support the image but if I am being honest they deserved to get 4th this season. They have been stable and worked as a team. City have sacked their manager and complained about world class Brazillians and played 17 defensive midfielders. This season was for us to gel, so Europa football is great, and an achievement in itself. Next season will be a different matter Bobby Manc. We need to be more postive, ambitious and ruthless. If you cannot deliver these qualities then depart. If you can, then you have the whole city behind you. Gutted, but glad its not the same old top 4 and Redknapp has worked wonders. He is just the type of manager that city could do with. Lets hope Mancini can do the same for us next year. COME ON WIGAN!

Yes willy cheers mate. I think thats probably the difference between the sides, in central defence. I rate Kompany as a holding player more than a CB and Toure seems abit lost. A couple of quality additions there and youre a great side.

Good luck to you, in the end it was sooooo close it was unbelievable The only dig at you I will have over tonight was that I really did think I was watching Bolton - Hoof it up to the big man - Hoof it up to the big man - hoof it upt to the big man etc. etc. Those tactics won't get you too far in Europe (and I know you can play better), but your defence certainly looks the business.
