Return of a Saviour?

Return of a Saviour?

Paul Dickov has agreed to return to the club that provided him with one of his greatest moments in football.

Few will ever forget his dramatic equaliser in the division 2 play off final of 1999, and for that goal alone he retains legend status in the eyes of many blues.

Much as I will welcome the return of Dickov the person, I truly believe it sends out the wrong message to City's supporters. Yes Dickov was a saviour in the eyes of many, but he is now 33 and managed just 4 goals for Blackburn last season. It is not the dynamic signing most blues were looking for and if it is a signal of the clubs shopping intentions I believe we have cause to worry next season.

Having said that I hope everyone gets behind Dickov despite some of his over the top celebrations after scoring against us and that he is welcomed back as a true blue legend.
