'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Harty, SWP, Gazzer Bazzer and Johnno For England

England chief Fabio Capello has named his 30 man provisional squad for the World Cup in South Africa next month and four Blues are in with a shout of making the final cut...

Joe Hart, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Gareth Barry and Adam Johnson have all been selected and all power to them in the coming weeks.

However, the luckless Joleon Lescott is sure to be devastated at his exclusion. Wayne Bridge of course withdrew his candidacy following 'Terrygate.'

Cappello's Thirty:

Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green, Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock, Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney.

both johnson and wright phillips aren't going to be first choice wingers if they're both named in the final 23 though which is a shame.

Gazzer Bazzer? Seriously?.........cringe.
Twosips
Twosips - why cringe?
Bluedub
City 4 rags 3 on call ups. The times are certainly changing.
Johnny Baguette
'Harty', 'Johnno', 'Gazzer Bazzer'......sounds like nicknames a bunch of 'lads' would put on the back of their t-shirts for a trip to Faliraki. Embarrassing. Gazzer Bazzer being the worst. By far.
Twosips
LMAO. You'll never guess what, Joseph, Adam and Gareth are known around Carrington as Harty, Johnno and Gaz. Spot on.
Johnny Baguette
Well footballers are 'lads' I suppose...the fact that Johnson isn't called 'AJ' as a nickname is retarded, seeing as there's already a 'Johnno' there. It's so obvious a nickname it's painful that he's not called that. Gaz is fine, Gazzer Bazzer though.....vom worthy!
Twosips
Have to say that "The Chief" for Nedum is a blinder!
Johnny Baguette
As for our club call ups for England that's probably what i expected. SWP will miss the final cut but i desperately hope AJ, Barry and Hart remain. Carragher, Hesky, Upson, Green, what jokers.
Once a Blue
David James to save the penalty that seals the trophy!!
Johnny Baguette
Gazzer Bazzer is not going away soon! Love it. Long live Gazzer Bazzer!

I count 5 blues, 3 reds. Also glad to see parker, johnson and hart in the squad. They all deserve it
scragg
France coach Raymond Domenech will announce his 23 players live on the national news tonight. Paddy Vieira..?
Johnny Baguette
Sorry awful maths, 4 blues 3 reds
Scragg
Probabaly the worst england squad i am likely ever to see. Barry wont be fit and hes a had a poor season in truth. Johnson should go because hes on blistering form, bags of tricks, cant play effectively on both wings. If the clueless-no skill- just pace-walcot goes ahead of johno, il cry.

Im fine with that selection. Id have prefered to have Agbonlohor in there ... maye instead of Heskey but i shant complain. Poor Lescott and poor Richards as at one time it looked like he could make it - injuries and pablo zabaleta (plus nedum) just stopped him! Beating the reds on the national scale and on the table next season ;) Come on england!
Bundo
Walcott plays for a fashionable Larndarn club SCS, therefore talent doesn't matter. Carragher? Hope he can check his zimmer frame in as hand baggage otherrwise we're in trouble.
fifthcolumnblue
Viera isnt going to the WC but I am suprised Zabaleta didnt even make the Argentina squad after his excellent season. As for our England boys, I am suprised Upson was picked over Lescott - not to mention the inclusion of Carragher ¬_¬
eighthsin
Personally id have Walcott behind even David Bentley in the pecking order, Walcotts awful! If he was a yard slower he wouldnt even be a professional footballer im sure of it. Lennon, SWP, Johnson are all far better.
