'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Changing The Way We Watch Football

The very first live colour TV transmission to be broadcast from overseas was the 1970 World Cup but in the intervening 40 years times have certainly changed.

With the advent of High Definition TV (HDTV) broadcasters have been given the freedom to experiment with the way we coach potatoes, like yours truly watch our beloved game.

Sky TV was the very first broadcaster in the world to show live Premier League football in 3D, albeit you had to visit a pub to experience the delights. In fact the Manchester derby was broadcast in 3D only a couple of months ago. The said company expects to launch 3D domestic channels by the end of the year.

With the 2010 World Cup about to begin the South African host TV company expect to broadcast 25 games in the new format. I wonder how many of us who thought colour TV would never take-off say something similar to 3D TV.

If you have been involved the 3D revolution can you share your experience in the comments section directly below this article.
