'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Revealed: Manchester City's Transfer Legion

The VMC Forum members have been steadily compiling a summer transfer 'linked with' thread since shortly before the end of the last season with startling and often hilarious results...!

A decade or so on from City's escape from the third tier of English football, Planet Blue has grown used to a relentless transfer window daily media parade of players that Roberto Mancini and previously Mark Hughes is supposed to be signing.

The hacks have been going into overdrive over the past five weeks in their bid to win website hits, sell papers and depending on which team they support, make mischief.

There are some interesting patterns emerging as to whom the football agents are talking to and whom and where from the hacks are dreaming up there 'scoops.'

VMC will keep the list going over the coming weeks in a bid to see just how accurate the Street of Shame guru's are!

To date, Manchester City have signed NONE of these players!

Roberto Mancini:

"We know the players who we are interested in. It is a small list of names, because I only want to bring in players who will improve the team.

"Of course we have various options and it is not easy and it is not always possible to do things quickly. We must be patient, and do the right things at the right time in the market. We know the value of the players we are interested in and will not be forced into paying more than we want to.

"I keep reading that I am going to sign lots of players in the summer and am also going to sell lots of players. This is not true, and I am surprised because people know that I already have a very strong squad at Manchester City."

LOL Robson! Now we can expect a wave of "City snubbed" articles as follow ups to the above!
Johnny Baguette
And we'd deserve it! How dare we rich, RICH beyond our wildest dreams! I feel a musical coming on!
RobsonGreensleeves
and what odds you buy them all ;-)
oxfordspur
This Modric any cop then? LMAO!
Johnny Baguette
Wouldn't it just be easier to list the players we HAVEN'T been linked to yet? :-/

Plus these you mised from your list that ive seen reports about with regard to City: Olic, Cardozo, Ozil, Ribery, Fabregas, Gamberini, Vucinic, A.Di Maria, Defoe, Buffon, J.Cole, Dorrans, Fabiano, Bent and D.Milito, its a mix of ridiculous tabloid and media speculation plus agents and or clubs of these players linking City with their players in the hope of pushing up the prices of their players. I will believe who we have bought once they have signed and not before, lets face it this has happened for the past 3 transfer windows and will for many to come i guess.

pmsl, unbelievable!
me_innit
thats at east 4 full teams. you can bet people do believe these rumours as well

*least*

Maybe we should just sign them all, loan them out to other Premier League clubs and then hey, Presto! We win the league, as most of the other teams will be forced to field their reserves against us under the terms of the loan deals.
fifthcolumnblue
Somebody is bound to be right - aren't they?
Thaibluefan
All we get now in the press is players, who we have not made a bid for saying they would not play for Manchester City. lol. now look at the links 99% of which are completely ficticious or made up by the players agent touting for business.
Buzz Lightyear
Keep 'em coming Blues! The plan is to get the midsummer list over to Mancio and Kiddo at Carrington in time for the return to training before the USA Tour. Nice one Davew782! I certainly recall the Olic and Milito "links!"
Johnny Baguette
and we're after Maicon as of today according to Sky Sports.com, he's top of Mancini's list acording to them. it would be nice to see some Brazilians's at the Club for a change ;-)
davew782
As they say at the Daily Mail, you couldn't make it up!
Johnny Baguette
And I love how people say we're "ruining football" by "bidding for everyone" when we aren't bidding for basically anyone at the moment.
StuMCFC
Unfortunately Stu, a lot of "Sheeple" will believe all this crap and hate us for absolutely no reason.
