When The Boateng Comes In?

Bild Magazine in Germany reveals today that Hamburg defender Jerome Boateng is on the verge of becoming Roberto Mancini's first signing of the summer...

It seems that at long last, one of more than 50 players linked by media scribes with The Blues over the past 5 weeks is actually about to put pen to paper.

The powerful Berlin born defender whose middle name is alledgedly 'versatility' told Bild:

'I am going to sign for City before leaving for the World Cup and the deal will be completed. It has been decided that I am moving there.'

The 21 years old, 6ft 4 inch stopper then expressed his determination to make the grade in the Premier League having explained that Mancio thinks he will need a few months to settle:

'Even if many people say that I am going to struggle to make the breakthrough, I am confident that I will. I am not afraid of anybody.'

- Now that's the spirit!

The fee is reported to be within the region of £10.5 million.

- Stay tuned with VMC for more transfer tremors counter balanced by transfer tripe!

£10.5m is an absolute steal for this guy. Hats off to our scouting network, this guy is potentially one of the best defenders in Europe and still only young. The future's bright, the future is BLUE!
