It's widely known that most Blues would love to see SWP back at Eastlands, either permanently or on an extended loan deal.
However, although it would be fantastic to have him back, fans would not like to see his return at the expense of our brightest young talent. We asked:
Should City use Sturridge or Richards in any deal to re-sign SWP?
YES: We need him back at any cost: 11%
NO: That's just bad business: 89%
It is reported that Chelsea are still on the trail of Micah Richards, which for the sake of the young lad's future career wont happen ( agent, please take note !) and although young Sturridge has just put pen to paper on a new three year deal, we all know how much contracts are really worth these days if there is a real determination for a predatory club, agent and player to leave; hopefully that will not be the case in this instance.
Where does that leave poor old Shaunie? Well, it's not looking too good for him unless he can end his Chelsea nightmare and either come home or more likely move on to Arsenal or Liverpool, although Chelsea would probably be unwilling to let him go to one of their main rivals unless their get a phenomenal transfer fee or take a quality player from them in return as part of the deal.
As for City, they need to move quickly here and sort out a deal for Micah immediately to end any speculation. I'd even go further to say that the Club, as a matter of policy should say they will not sell any of our best Academy lads full stop ! ....and by that I mean the likes of Richards, Sturridge, Etuhu, Onouha, Miller, Ireland, Schmeichel and even BWP. They are the future of the club and it's far too early to even consider letting them go, and definitely not on the cheap.
