I think I'll back Brazil at 5 to 1 and then have a saver on them in the semis. And then again in the final if they get there. That way, if they beat England I won't be too disappointed. Met football journo John Dillon at Heathrow, on his way out there and he didn't commit. His first answer when I asked him was "Brazil", which would have been mine too, but then he couldn't say. It's very open. The best answer for the kids is "One of the two who get to the final".

This year many teams are about the same. England for me have a poor team this time, so not expecting very much. SA could do well, as strong home support always helps.

England have a decent chance if you ask me. One of the best coaches in the game and a very experienced squad, that should take the pressure in their stride given the amount of caps between them. They wouldn't be my favourites, but I wouldn't rule them out.

I am in a quandary. Rio being injured may actually be a blessing as he has had a poor season by his standards and has spent a good part of it out injured. I wish we had taken parker as I am sure he would have been a great success. I an hoping we make it to the semis but hoping is all.

With Roy on this one, The Brazilians almost always seem to save themselves for the big one, I don't see an exception in South Africa.

i think you need at leats three consistently firing strikers and England don't have that. My money is on the Argies rising to the challenge but it's very open. If your strikers perform, you'll be thereabouts.
