Adebayor's Blunder Live On Match Of The Day

During a live South Africa World Cup Match Of The Day programme broadcast on BBC1 something embarrassing happens to TV pundit Emmanuel Adebayor, but what?

The Manchester City striker is happily discussing the day's events with host Gary Lineker and fellow TV pundit Alan Shearer when this happens...

I wonder who was trying to contact the retired Togolese international.

I'd say it was one of his mates ringing him to tell him he was on the telly.

Mancini: Can you ask Lineker and Shearer if they'll share with you the secret of scoring goals.

Hate to wing in from left field with these things boys, but this was the most apt thing I read re-the England game. Living in Ireland, I saw all this, exactly as the man says. The trick is to watch the game on the English media while recording the Irish media. The one invariably drifts off into glossin over things, while the Irish presenters, especially Giles and Dunphy, can be much nearer the truth on most occasions. Sometimes the post match analysis on RTE can resemble a full-blown domestic row, and it's always entertaining, even if it slips sometimes into becoming slightly Anglophobic. http://www.dangerhere.com/giles-bounces-back-as-adebayor-unsettles-bbc/?

Nice one Roy! I must admit Dunphy going daft is something else. I recall his defence of Royston Vasey Keane with my toes curled up!!

I dont think it was really a big deal!

The Adebayour telephone incident was later, and was nothing, I agree, but Dunphy raving about the inadequacies of the the English midfield with Giles stumping up the occasional telling ball with his usual dead-pan delivery is something to behold, and much more educational and informed than Shearer, Chiles, Keegan or Hanson could ever be. Praise, insight and venom in the same breath.. both of them. With Souness being shouted down in the middle of them, and presenter Bill H refereeing. Brilliant tv.
