So it has come back around again, some might say 'already'.
Within the next couple of hours the fixtures for the new season will be released and City fans will no doubt be keen to discover when we play the green and gold folders, whose Christmas we will ruin and how tough the run in to a Champions League position will be this time.
Of course this season we will once again need to factor in that many matches will be played on Sundays, so today's 'first draft' will need considerable alteration because of the Europa League and Sky selections. Watch out for the hanges over the next couple of weeks.
I encountered a UEFA Official yesterday who I have not seen since the Hamburg match and before that the UEFA Cup Final 2008 and he told me he had the choice of being delegated to either City or another team from warmer climes. He was however amazed at the changes within the Club since he was last here plus the fact that players apparently cleared out by City were scoring winners for teams in the World Cup (Elano & Fernades). He was saying that if those were players we'd let go, what were we buying in?
Day by day Newsnow continues to buy us a new team. It seems to have settled a bit just for now but as teams come home from the World Cup and players look for new challenges, we will be linked with more and more different footballers. I'm glad to see a sense of restraint about the place with us clearly looking for quality amongst the players we are trying to sign rather than anything else.
So who do you want 'first up'? Newly promoted teams are always a handful early season. It is their Cup Final. The tried and tested teams usually have new players trying to prove themselves and the top three are always keen to get off to a good start, so as they say...there are no easy matches in the Premier League.
Check in to the Club's Official Website at 0900hrs and watch the drama unfold...
