'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Out With The Old, In With The New

The adage 'football never stands still,' couldn't be more poignant when it comes to Manchester City Football Club.

This time last year MCFC opened its doors to the fans in an effort to bring supporters a closer look at the crop of players preparing for the 2009/10 season. How times have changed.

Several faces featured on the above video have long since departed and now we look forward to an exciting 2010/11 campaign.

Rumours circulating around the tabloids suggest City are linked with just about every Tom. Dick and Harry - nothing new there, however a couple of names banded about, in my opinion have real substance.

Yaya Toure according to several media outlets think the Barcelona defensive midfielder will be unveiled as a City player before this week is out.

It looks as though Valencia, who are under a mountain of debt, will only be too willing to show David Silva the door but only if Manchester City offer the La Liga team around £30m.

I wonder if one or both of the above will be playing in Blue at the City of Manchester Stadium next season.

Ah, welcome to our football Chelsea world boys - full of tedious and largely untrue transfer rumours. Unfortunately for you, Silva has already spoken of his desire to come to our beloved London Blues, but for £28mil, you can have Toure!

Just think if we had taken 4th place and not let Spurs sneak it - then we would have been talking turkey and nobody would have got a sniff at the best players.
Wswilly3
Don't particularly want Silva, especially for 30m. There are loads of similar players who are younger, cheaper and more hungry to succeed. Yaya would be a quality signing with his physical attributes. 28m? A little overpriced but better value than Silva.
Eighthsin
I reckon Yaya would be a good buy for you lot. If you get him maybe you could loan us a player for the season. A right back would be helpful.
SFC Forever
You can have Micah.
Wswilly3
Toure is not overpriced at 30 million when you consider the market and also consider that he is one of the top three box-to-box midfielders in the world.
StuMCFC
What world class striker do we have a chance of attracting .... that to me is the question????
Wswilly3
as i said before man city only wreck plays by giving them to high wages were it is so high that most players dont play as well as they should like barry or lescot
Avfc94 we do
oh wait a minute are man city going to bribe me to keep my mouth shut
Avfc94 we do
Avfc94: High wages makes players play worse? OK, excellent logic. Lescott was the best English defender in the league for a spell before his injury.
StuMCFC
StuMCFC-yeah but that was at everton when he was good not man city
Avfc94 we do
Avfc94 we do - engage your brain before you post, if you had bothered watching either of these players playing for City this season you would be aware that they had good solid debut seasons.
bluedub
bluedub-i engaged my brain and that was what i thought
Avfc94 we do
Your brain clearly needs a service Av.
