Valencia Confirm David Silva Talks

Valencia have confirmed that Manchester City have been given permission to speak to their Spain international midfielder David Silva.

Valencia's deputy chairman Javier Gomez told the press...

'As has been said, there is interest from Manchester City and we have permitted them to talk to the player but we have reached no agreement and we have not talked about a fee.'

Silva (24) came through the Valencia youth system and made his first team debut in 2004. The Canary Islands born attacking midfielder made his senior international appearance in the 1-0 friendly home defeat to Romania on 15 November 2006 after come through the U-17 ranks.

The La Liga side have already sold their leading striker David Villa to Spanish champions Barcelona for £35 million but with the club in financial meltdown Valencia have no choice but to sell the 5'7' supremo to the highest bidder.

As expected, Manchester City FC will not be making any comment until any potential deal is signed, sealed and delivered.
