*Video* Milner's Facebook Answers

Manchester City's summer transfer target, James Milner talks to the official website and in doing so answers fans questions submitted via Facebook.

The current Aston Villa and England midfielder looks relaxed in front of the camera, something he'll be doing quite a lot of if and when Villa finally realise they can't keep hold of one of their prize assets.

once you coughed up 30m, you can have him, then we'll sign someone for 8m ;) while milner flops for yous

Ha, 30M, Good one! There'll be one or two offers up to about 24M then if you don't sell we'll'walk away and Milner will then ask to leave. O'neill will then have a Moyes style 'getting nowhere' strop before Randy sells him to us.

What a pointless article. I must have missed the bit where Milner said that he wants to play for you lot??? "James Milners's Name Resurfaces On City Radar"??????. IF he goes (BIG IF), it will be to a team that will immediately improve his game etc. not his wage packet.

Is there anything worse than 'new money' & smug Man City fans???? And of course money can never account for good taste - which the 3rd club in North West lacks almost intolerably. I suggest you think back to when The Fat Spanish Waiter tried to sign Barry - I think you will find we never once budged in our valuation. You seriously underestimate Lerner and Oneill if you think they will do a deal which doesnt suit them and the club before a player that is contracted to them. Personally I hope Milner see's sense and signs for either Chelsea, or United. One thing you havent considered is why would we sell one of our best players to a close rival???

'can't keep hold of one of their prized assets' purely because of the obscene money in the game now. Come on folks, bit of humility as this is yet another ********isation of the league... something started by Chelsea. Going to be the ruination of the game imho.

Fear - it was happening a long time before Chelsea got their money. Stig - yes there is something worse holier than thou Villa fans crapping on about class. Villan444 - wrong article mate, and who said that Milner said he wants to join us?

Money IS the be all and end all of things whether we like it or not. Man City have more than anyone else. Fact. So it is likely that Milner will end up at Eastlands, BUT Citeh fans don't be kidded it WILL be on Villa's terms or not at all. If MON and Randy can't persuade Milner to sign a new contract they will name a price and will NOT budge. The price will be well in excess of real value. 30m minimum. If you want him, pay it or look elsewhere.

I am just saying it wasnt so long ago you were a nothing club in the lower leagues battling for survival...... short memories or what? Now you think you have a devine right somehow, or monopoly on the game. You are everything that is wrong in our modern game.

Stig - how exactly?

Bluedub: Because the media has told him so and like sheep, they follow what they are told. Hating City is the "cool" thing now. Nevermind the money we pay clubs doesn't have to be accepted by the clubs but when it is, is put back into the game. Damn us for paying Swindon 250k for Alex Henley for example, thus giving Swindon an excellent cash sum (with more to follow) which they can invest in either club finances or new players.

I stand corrected Bluedub, was looking at the related article link. But this video clip should be on the Villa site and not the City one. Other than a failed bid of 20 mil, there is NO connection between Milner and City whatsoever. It's a sad situation when the media is stirring/tapping up a player to go elsewhere just to fatten his wallett. Hating City isn't cool. Hating a club who's owners and fans think that they have a God given right to have any player ( even though they DIDN'T qualify for the Champs League) and talk about other contracted players as though they were their possession already is natural and I'm sure you would feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

It was! When we were forced to sell SWP to Chelsea. Or when Billy Meredith was sold to Trafford United for less than a tenner. Mind you, he'd alledgedly been a very naughty boy. Triumph and disaster. What goes round...

Not even Utd have a divine right to prosperity. Fans all over would like to have owners that could keep the club safely locked into the upper echelons of the Premier League. It is not only money that wins the prizes but good management and a good team plan. AJ will be worth more in a year I wouldn't be at all surprised and how much hs he cost?

Villa fans, cometh on down from yon lofty heights. You wish it was you who got taken over, I don't blame you, I'd be the same as you lot if it were the other way round, probably worse! But please, stop pretending you wouldn't like it.

Stig, you feel all clubs smaller or not as successful as yourselves are 'nothing clubs'?! You need to take your moral compass for a service my friend and think before you type. You are blind to your own words, and that's pretty despicable.

ok then my punt on the situation, i dont hate man city nor am i jealous of there new found wealth, when they were taken over and it was known that they would be minted i was chuffed to bits for them, as i see it any club that has to put up with the dirty non manc's for the last 100 years is entitled to there day, now they may have all this money and success for the next year/10 years or even 100 years, who knows i just hope they enjoy the ride. 2 years ago we alone tried to break the sky4 and just fell short, this year there was us, city and spuds and as much as i'd have loved us to get 4th as long as 1 of us did i was happy, so now we have dislodge 1 i can see another or many 2 next year being dislodged. on the milner debate, i have read a lot of football forums and a lot of city forums and the thing that gets me is the fans saying that man city will dictate the price, sadly this is not true, for players like milner where the villa dont need to sell or dont want 2 sell, then city will have to pay the price MoN and Randy set, if they dont like it they will move on and Jimmy will stay put and as he showed at newcastle, and would no doubt sign a new contract. anyway if you do get milner i hope he continues to become the player he can and not just sit on the bench, and i hope you continue to scare the sky4 in the future as they will be worrying so much about City , that the like of villa and spuds will continue to be there or they abouts for the top 4. so good luck lads and i hope you do get some success sooner rather than later, but please keep your feet on the ground and dont become arrogant like the scum from over the road at OT.
