Spurs & Everton Can Keep Their Mitts Off Bellamy

Spurs & Everton Can Keep Their Mitts Off Bellamy

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have put in an offer of £6m for Manchester City's Craig Bellamy, while Everton are also said to be interested in securing the services of the Wales international.

If these reports have any substance why on earth does Roberto Mancini want to get rid?

Bellamy, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Tuesday 13 July completed his move to Manchester City on a four and a half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, (believed to be around £14 million) in January 2009 and ever since his arrival the pacey forward has done nothing but impress.

We all know Bellamy has a short fuse but that is exactly what drives the Welshman on. He's committed to the cause and runs like a man possessed. If Bellamy does depart Eastlands this summer I for one will be sad to see him go.

Spurs fans

As ever, members from Vital Spurs are never short of something to say. The following is just a small sample...

pjones4 - Crouch out yes .Bellamy in NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Why are we going after Man City's cast off's when we should be competing with them. I know we don't have the same money but we have more pull .We are in the CL qualifiers that must count.

magicmonkeyjuice - If we do get Bellamy (fed up arguing that he's old, injury prone and a t*sser) let's get rid of Pav, not Crouch. Crouch is a very useful weapon to have in my opinion, as a wiley old manager like Hodgson recognises. Pav just plays well when he can be bothered and in my eyes is a poor mans Berbatov.

RichmondSpur - With the money they have of course Citeh will be in for Barlotelli and Dzeko. How can their strikers 'put us to shame' when we have a better team and achieved our aim of CL footy when they didn't? Bellamy would be an improvement on what we have up front. Harry knows what he's doing!

oxfordspur - I think that 95% of the fans on here were claiming that Bellamy was shite 18 months ago, but who can argue that he has been excellent for City. As for him leaving there, it is common knowledge that the and Mancini don`t get on and also their egos seem to be getting the better of themselves and they are insisting on signing galacticos, which is a very expensive gamble in my opinion.

Real Deal - We won't get more than two seasons out of him. He even said he only has around two left in him.

Should Bellamy leave for Tottenham or Everton? Tell us what you think in the comments section directly below this article.

I can see that you like him, but really, when you've been telling yourself that the reason you can only buy second-rate players is because you are not in the champions league, and then you make it! You expect Kaka to be in the headlines :-)

Bellamy was fantastic for us but slowed down in the second half of the season and failed to replicate his stunning early form. This is probably down to his knees and may suggest he can't manage a full season effectively, and may be better used as an impact sub. I think that is what he will be if he stays. But to get as much as 6 million for someone who by his own words has very little time left may be a good deal, even though it would be a bit hard to see him on the opposing side on day one of the new season.

Would hate to see him go. £14m down to £6m after a blistering season? It's laughable really. Keep him at the club, theres no point in making a massive loss and giving our rivals a decent player - double kick in the teeth.

Why do we need to sell one of our best players of the past season? Makes no sense to me! Then you get all these rival fans saying he's too old with dodgy knees and will cost too much........, hope your owners think the same too so they can leave him the ***** alone!

Bit harsh HuddYid, he's one of the few players in the PL that is a true philantropist. The true assholes are those that don't understand how lucky they are to be professional footballers. I'd start naming them but I haven't got all week. Mancini has said he wants him to stay, Bellamy has said he wants to prove he's good enough to hold down his place at City, he also said if he leaves City it will more than likely not be to another English club as he wants to stay close to his family( what an asshole, eh? ). I really hope he stays, because regardless of whether he starts or not he will push his team mates to play to their very best, not to mention he scored over 10 goals for City last season, from the left wing.

Bellamy would run through a brick wall for his team. Why would anyone not want a player like him in their side? 100% commitment couple with large helpings of pace and talent, and his attitude makes him very unpopular with the opposition and very popular with his own fans. Didn't want Bellamy when he first signed, now I don't want him to go anywhere. If he does go then I would suggest we slap a $14m price tag on him to see if anyone is really serious about signing him - he must not go to a rival on the cheap!

fifthcolumnblue, don't worry my friend he won't be going to a rival if the story is true, he will go to tottenham hotspur who isn't a rival of city's, we (if only for one season) are in the elite of the premiership so our rivals next season will be arsenal, chelsea and manchester united, we don't have time to worry about small fry especially the sort that is bought on arab oil money and just throws it everywhere to get who they want at way over the top prices only to find that they can't gel as a team, £24m for lescott and the same for yaya toure hahahahahahahahaha will never be a class act and will always remain in our shadow!!
