'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Goodbye Gibbo

This is really extraordinary news and not news that I like to see. The much heralded team of Cassells & Gibson is no more in any of its shapes or forms.

Between them they have masterminded the development in football of some of the finest young talent which reached its pinnacle in 2008 when an expensively assembled Chelsea Youth proved to be no match for our mainly home grown boys.

Not all of the players nurtured by these very special men made it at City but many did get work in football and that is a great testimony to Jim & Gibbo.

I for one will miss Gibbo immensely. He is great to meet, infectious, good humoured, very knowledgeable and a very able coach. All-in-all a great man.

Gibbo - whatever challenge you are seeking (am I'm sure it won't be long in the making) I know you will do well. Very best wishes from myself and all at Vital Manchester City. One proviso - please do not come back to haunt us!

'Kin ell. I remember seeing Asa Hartford, Gibbo and Cassd deep in conversation heading out to the IOM from Liverpool airport a couple of years back. A great team.

sad news for City, but he obviously has his reasons. His legacy will remain long after he has gone.
