Forget Sitting On The Bench Warns Hart

Forget Sitting On The Bench Warns Hart

Joe Hart is unwilling to sit on the substitutes' bench this season and would prefer to go out on loan again. Apparently!

Shay Given has recovered from his shoulder injury and if the truth be known the Republic of Ireland keeper is thought to be Mancini's first choice shot-stopper.

Nevertheless, Hart (23) who spent the whole of last season on loan at Birmingham made his feelings clear...

"Sitting on the bench doesn't really interest me if I'm honest. I've played a lot of first-team football now and that's all I want to do."

Asked whether he would consider another loan move, Hart said...

"It wouldn't be up to me, Manchester City are in charge of me at the moment but if I wasn't playing I suppose I would have to reconsider."

In response to Harts comments City boss Mancini said...

"Joe Hart will be the first-choice goalkeeper for England for the next 10 years but I do not know which goalkeeper will be my first choice next season."

Dilemma

If you were the City boss what would you do?

Rotate keepers?
Allow Hart to go out on-loan?
Keep Hart happy and make Given sit on the bench?
Run to the hills and bury your head in sand?
Something else

Too good to warm your bench along with many other players who are. He needs to get out asap unless he doesnt get the number 1 shirt but i doubt it because given is quality aswell.

Have to agree P.Avfc. I would hate to see him leave City but if that is what he has to do then so-be-it.

i'd have shay playing the league games and joe playing in all the cup games! Easy! Keep them both happy? Unless we get to all 3 finals then maybe shay wouldn't be too happy.

I doubt he would wanna play a few cup games there and then though, He should be sent out on loan to someone like fulham, sunderland etc so he can improve, stay happy and be a city player still for the future.

Mancini will not have any choice but to play his best keeper at all times. At the moment that's Given. With the type of investment that has been made, the owners will expect trophies, and I don't think Mancini will stick his head out just to please Hart. I don't think Hart would be satisfied with playing just cup matches either as suggested by G-I-I. Unfortunately I can only see this going two ways: 1) either he goes out on loan now. 2) or he stays until January and goes out on loan then unless Given gets injured in the meantime. I don't think that we will sell him this season - for that he is too big a prospect. The question is how long will he be happy being loaned out for, there's no telling how long Given will remain at his best.

Well, as long as he's playing on a regular basis and is happy with that, why don't we keep loaning him out until Shay retires or dips in form? I don't see any problem with sending Joe out on loan to help his development, especially since he's only 22 years old. His best years are still ahead of him, and it's not like he's sitting on a bench somewhere if he gets loaned out, he's getting first team action.

Please don't go all Kasper Schmeichel, Joe. The sheer audacity he had in declaring himself The Man at City after a series of jammy clean sheets beggared belief. Today he's come out and talked of his "horrible" time at City. City gave you your start Kasper.

To sell his not an option - keep him and review a loan at Christmas but play him in the Europa League.

I like your thinking, Willy. Play him in the League Cup and Europa League and that's a good 14 games before Christmas. Compared to the league, it's about 50/50 with Given in net.
