MCFC To Hold Second Free Open Training Session

MCFC To Hold Second Free Open Training Session

Following the success of last summer's Family Fun Day, City are to stage a repeat this Friday, the 6th August with Mancio putting his squad through their paces inside the Stadium...

City owner His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has maintained all along that the club must pursue an 'evolution being on every level and borne out of a sustainable approach that has its foundations in the club's academy; it's fans and the relationship with the Manchester community' and it is staging events like this that can only help to continue to build bridges with a City faithful reknowned for it's previous long suffering.

Entrance is free again with the Eastlands turnstiles starting to rotate at 14h00 East Manchester time. The training session, which should follow a light hearted theme should kick off an hour later following live entertainment and a first viewing of the newly-extended and revamped Family Stand.

Last year's event realised an attendance of 10,000 Blues and this year's figure is highly likely to surpass that as Mancio's revamped squad will be introduced to City fans for the first time.

The likes of Kolarov, Tevez, Boateng, De Jong and Silva are now back in town so get weaving down there Blues and give them a cheer!

City In The Community (CITC) are on tour throughout Greater Manchester parks this month.

Families can take their kids along to the parks listed on The Official Site on a daily basis. The nippers can then take part in the sports activities arranged by the club for free:

"No registration is required but participants must have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian available on the day.

Participants must wear appropriate clothing to take part in sporting activities. It is also advised that participants bring with them a pack lunch and plenty of fluid."

The TV cameras will be filming and no doubt footage will be out on Youtube as quick as a flash. Talking of which... if anyone is going and intend filming or taking pictures and you want them published on VMC then please, feel free to send them via an email and i'll happily do the honours.

That is a great bit of news. Imagine that, the owner actually caring about the fans and wanting to make them feel welcome and happy inside the stadium. That's something refreshing that seems to me is being pushed out of football these days.

I think you will find that the event will be Streamed on MCFC.co.uk. There will be freestylers, face paints the whole shooting match designed to launch the Family Stand..on and over 100 members of the press looking in on our new players

Wow! Is this unprecedented in the Premier League? Can any of our visiting Vital pals let us know if their club host similar events?

Chelsea have open training days JB, but they make the fans pay for the privelege. As I understand it several Chelsea supporters groups are not entirely over the moon about it.
