Nedum Onuoha has hit the road North East for the season. City and a delighted Sunderland have just confirmed that the deal is sealed...

As VMC confirmed last night...

The Chief, a diehard 23 year old City fan and MCFC Academy graduate, reknowned for his eloquent well educated approach has never let City down when called upon. Only repeated injury problems have thwarted his bid to become an established City star.

Onuoha has 89 starts and 4 goals to his name in Sky Blue.

There will be relief amid disappointment that he's going around SportCity that one of our own has not been completely jettisoned, yet his need for first team action is totally understandable.


In other news, another MCFC Academy lad Andy Tutte has joined Rochdale on loan until January.

Would love to see him lead Sunderland to a top 8 finish, break into the England squad, and return to us. However if he did, he would be mad not to seek assurances that when fit, he is the guaranteed minimum third choice centre half and behind no-one else in the pecking order. If he fulfils his potential at Sunderland the club should grab him back and try to turn him into our Terry. There is really no substitute at a big club for a dyed in the wool supporter who will never quit. Puyol, Terry, hell even the Chuckle Brother, these guys are/were talismans for their teams.

He'll be back, as the club would be stupid to sell him. What has happened, since we have a ton of money, is that we don't need to develop players to be sold anymore. We can loan them out for a few years, and then bring them back when we need them. It's genius, really.
