José Mourinho Admits He Can't Compete With City

Real Madrid manager, José Mourinho, admits he is unable to compete with Manchester City in the transfer market after being outbid for Aleksander Kolarov.

The Special One told the press...

'I understand that if someone wants to compete with them for a player it is very difficult. They are dominant in the market. The player they say they want is the player they get.'

'I was interested in Kolarov when I came here but I couldn't compete with them (MCFC) as they went to values that I couldn't.'

'If they have the money they can do it, if they have the ambition to win the Premier League they can do it.'

Here are a couple of comments on the very subject, taken from our forums.

Spooks - Mourinho sees us coming in the top 3 but Hansen and all his pundit cronies see us not making the top 4. I wonder who knows more about football?

fifthcolumnblue - To paraphrase Hansen: 'You'll win nothing with young hungry superstars!'

Doody - How long before Mourinho starts to hint that he is what City need to finish the job...lol

Kolarov was a dead cert for Real. Stunning times.

Mourinho is very canny about keeping options open. He flaunts his "wonderful" relationship with Ferguson just in case a job should come up there, but once he realises the cupboard is bare he will start murmuring regularly about City...because he wants to be able to sign the top players and there's no doubt he can lead Clubs to greatness.

Sorry, but haven't you heard? It is Mourinho's destiny to replace slur alccy when he eventually retires/leaves in a pine box/is carted off to the funny farm. At least that's what every rag from Dublin to Singapore keeps telling me.

Rags are renowned for stretching the truth a bit as we all know.

I am with ped. I think as we steam roll up the table and become a genuine number one contender he will hint more and more that all we need to finish the job is him ......he likes the idea of a limitless bank account behind him.
Doody
Mourinho and wenger won the league in their 1st full seasons. Blackburn and chelsea won the league with major investment. If city win the league this season, no one should be suprised.
