'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Super Mario Out Knacked Until End Of October

Bad news, Planet Blue. The eagerly awaited home debut of Mario Balotelli is set to undergo knee surgery...

During his goal scoring cameo role in Timsoara last month he suffered the injury which saw him limp off the pitch.

Peter Ferguson at th'official site reports:

'The Italian's injury is to the lateral meniscus, one of the two most crucial structures in the knee, and medical wisdom is to try and encourage the problem to heal without recourse to an operation...It was hoped that the symptoms would settle down but once Balotelli began to step up his recovery programme this week, it became clear that action would need to be taken.'

So it's now a case of all eyes on Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz after their recent very public flirts with the Eastlands exit door.

Put your performances where your mouths are, gentlemen.

Opportunity knocks not only for Ade and Crocky but Jo.

People knocked our "hording" of players but all these injuries are showing strength in depth is required to sustain a challenge.

Are our strikers jinxed?

I'm wondering how Tevez is feeling after being left on injured 3-0 up last night. Maybe we'll just run a 4-3-3 with 3 CDMs and 3 CAMs!
