Manchester City Or England?

Six of the England national team players who beat Switzerland 3-1 on Tuesday night came from the Manchester City squad.

First thing Wednesday morning Sky Sports took their cameras onto the streets of Manchester and in doing so interviewed several City supporters.

Would be impressive if you brought them up throught the ranks like you can kinda say you did with hart and SWP. But you stole 2 of us!! I also reckon SWP and Lescott wont and shouldnt really be in their for long. As for hart, johnson, barry and milner most of them should be in england regulars.

Well, you could have Richards in there come spring time if his form improves, and even Michael Johnson depending on his injury. That's 8 City players on the English side. Talk about ruining football...

This core of English players will be good for the club and for the national team. Look at how well Barcelona are doing with the same policy. It will obviously take a while for the pieces the fit into place, but once they have, hopefully we will start to reap the rewards. The academy will have a major role over the coming years with regards to developing international level players - thats the goal.

having so many City players in the England squad has certainly renewed my interest in England - after the world cup, I only watched the qualifiers due to the City contingent. Makes a change to watching England through gritted teeth, as I never felt comfortable cheering on the likes of N***le, Brown or Terdinand.

Ruining English football as usual.

good on you guys... Though 4 of em will be in for the longer term. Johnson is my personal Favourite of the lot and Hart could be the man to finally succeed Seamen. Well England always manage to produce players... Just when it seems like they have no youngsters coming up.

If Michael Johnson is somehow the same as before his injury hell I think he will walk into the England squad though unlikely play much for a while as Gerrard is still playing well.

Gerrard is indeed playing very well. Will be interesting to see if Capello picks Lampard again though. Not in any way suggesting that Frank is a bad player, but everyone has been banging on for ages about how Gerrard & Lampard don't play well together, and on this evidence it looks as though it's true. Shame for Lampard, but good for the England team.
