Man Of The Match Update v Black and White Stripes

The VMC Forum Posse have spoken and in match numbers 11 and 12 of the season YaYa Toure and Vincent Kompany take the plaudits yet again...

Though Toure faded to substitution in the difficult clash with Newcastle, he played in Adam Johnson with an exquisite pass to secure The Blues equaliser against a well drilled Juventus. AJ wasn't far behind in a vote that dragged on through the weekend such was it's close run finish!

VMC Man of The Match versus Juventus:

Y Toure 33.33%
A Johnson 27.78%
Tevez 16.67%
Kompany 11.11%
Boyata 5.56%
K Toure 5.56%
Zabaleta 0%
Adebayor 0%
Boateng 0%
Barry 0%
Vieira 0%
Silva 0%
Milner 0%
Hart 0%

Vincent Kompany yet again scaled the heights against Newcastle and we are running out of superlatives in praise of the Blues defensive pillar. A defence that has only conceded 3 league goals all season. In truth, the classy centre back was unlucky with his footing for the Newcastle goal.

Meanwhile, David Silva is beginning to shine in style.

VMC Man of The Match versus Newcastle:

4. Vincent Kompany 39.13%
21. David Silva 21.74%
32. Carlos Tevez 13.04%
34. Nigel De Jong 8.7%
11. Adam Johnson 8.7%
7. James Milner 4.35%
18. Gareth Barry 4.35%
25. Joe Hart 0%
17. Jerome Boateng 0%
28. Kolo Toure 0%
19. Joleon Lescott 0%

My vote went for Silva as an acknowledgement of his improving performance ..but I cannot argue with VK getting it ....

I reckon we should just hand the POS award to Vinnie right now - and the best thing is, this guy is still improving. How good can he become? Frightening!

Definately our best player so far this season. 3 MOM awards out of 7 PL games - outstanding. A worrying aspect I noted on a previous MOM update was the fact that hardly any attacking players are being nominated. This goes to show how poor our attack has been this season.
