The Missing Ped Report

In case you are wondering where the Ped Report is for the Blackpool match I have to own up and tell you I was in fact at the Estadio de la Rosaleda in Malaga watching Real Madrid destroy the blanquiazules of the Costa del Sol 4-1 with goals shared between Ronaldo and Higuain.

Having previously watched the Blackpool-City match on TV, I adjourned to La Rosaleda, £120 ticket in hand in the hope that Malaga might provide a shock. In the end it was a routine win for Real.

In the past I have seen Malaga beat Barcelona in the Camp Nou (2-1), play out an astonishing 4-4 draw with Real, this despite a very dodgy ref giving Madrid a penalty 5 minutes into 4 minutes of stoppage time and Contreras actually saving it, and even seen them once again be unlucky in the Bernabeu when losing 4-3, after getting mugged in central Madrid.

Blackpool v City? I was in a bar with a couple of Stretfords asking me what Tevez had done? He's done nothing they insisted. A few minutes later he'd scored twice. End of story. But I've only two words to say on our victory over Blackpool - David Silva. Those of you who follow my scribbles know that I have said all season that in Silva we have a gold plated footballer of immense talent and it will only be a matter of a short time before this man bursts on to the Premier League scene. Is this not happening? What a goal to win the match.

It has been an interesting week. Great win on Sunday, then the stories about Rooney, which even made Marca and As in Spain with both Mourinho and Guardiola seemingly distancing themselves from getting involved, and then after some great performances the EDS get beat by Wigan. 'It's a funny old game'.

Normal Ped Service will resume on Friday morning. It will be interesting to see how the Lech Poznan match pans out. They seem to be brining nearly 6000 fans from both Poland and UK-exPats. Most of those from Poland seem to be travelling overland!!

A testing experience for the Club but one that I expect us to win.

Against the background of another astonishing performance by Adebayor on Sunday how about Adebayor and Santa Cruz as part of the makeweight for Rooney? That would give Fergie options and probably present us with the Premier League!!

And finally, last but not least, how sad that Malcolm Allison, the founder of what football is today, in terms of players' fitness, left us on Friday.

The flamboyant master tactician will be sadly missed by everybody around Eastlands, especially those of us who knew Malcolm and his family.

An excellent read as ever, Ped! The great thing about Silva is liek with so many of our players he is only 24 years old with a fine career ahead of him. These boys, sorry, mercenaries are hungry for success.

Nice one Ped - like JB says, another cracking read.
