Kompany: Europa League Very Important To Us

City's classy defensive rock Vincent Kompany has repeated his claim that City can and will get better in the coming months with the Europa League campaign a high priority...

'...The Europa League is very important to us...we're working very hard towards winning something. The level is very high in this League and any games in Europe give you valuable experience.'

The big central defender who has been a revelation this season again underlined the siege mentality which is being forged in Roberto Mancini's squad:

'We've performed well as a team recently and for me that's a good feeling. We've had difficult games but we've stuck together and come through them. I think our performances have shown we have a strong group. We're in a situation where it's often us against a lot of people, and that's why we've performed so well as a group. We've only just come together, yet we're already getting results.'

Looking at the bigger picture, as many pundits and hacks are continuing to predict, Vinnie suggests City will improve and become stronger:

'In a few months we'll be even better, so the results we've got so far are very positive...it's only logical for me to say that in a few months or years, if we work in the same way as we have been doing, then we'll be an even better team. The future will hopefully be good.'
