'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vladimír Weiss Hints He May Stay At Ibrox

Vladimír Weiss (20) currently on-loan at Scottish Premier League side Rangers has hinted he may stay at Ibrox.

The Slovakian international has become a sensation during his season long loan stay with the current SPL champions and is proving to his doubters what it takes to play at a decent, but not exactly thrill-seeking level of football.

The whiz-kid winger told the press north of the border...

'The question of my future is a difficult one. I have a contract at Manchester City until 2013 and I would like to return there, if that is possible.'

'But I am very happy in Glasgow - Rangers are a club at the highest level with excellent training facilities.'

Weiss finished off by saying...

'More people know me here and the interest in football is enormous.'

Weiss has many admirers at the City of Manchester Stadium and sometime soon it was hoped he would become a regular feature in Roberto Mancini's squad. Perhaps there is still time to capitalise on this gifted player.

He'll be back - his experience at Rangers will be gold worth at City when he comes of age. He'll be back as a stronger player and will be able to give SWP, AJ and Milner good competition. It's only positive that he's a hit at Ibrox, it just shows the amazing depth and potential at City!

His problem is largely that he stands around and watches off the ball instead of looking to make space, etc. He could learn from Silva in that regard, Silva is always looking to make space and receive the ball. Vlad's end product is also still lacking. All that said, I think he might be a better reserve right-winger than Shauny, who seems to be losing all of his strongest qualities on the pitch and 9 times out of 10 lately has made the wrong decision.

have I missed something? Vlad basically says "yeah, Rangers is good, but i want to go back to City if they'll have me". Doesn't sound like he wants to leave to me!

Lads like this are our future and I reckon City will ensure he stays on board.

He would be a better option to swp as he is younger and swp is badly out of form. I hope weiss reconsiders.

Spot on Fifth. The lad says he wants to come back to City. He's obviously aware he can't take his returning to City for granted, so speaks highly of the club he's currently plying his trade at simply to keep his options open. I hope he does return and becomes a success at City, the more Academy lads we can fit into our squad/team the better. I agree with those saying he's a natural obvious repacement for SWP. It's a shame SWP hasn't rediscovered his magic at City that was there first time round, but I fear we'll never see him discover that form again.
