Vieira: Believe



City midfielder Patrick Vieira is unruffled neither by the recent media attacks upon Manchester City nor the team's two consecutive league defeats...

The vastly experienced French World Cup Winner has called on his colleagues to believe in themselves and the City cause:

'...the only way we can win is by being altogether and we understand that. It's a difficult period because from the outside.
Everybody is trying to create this negativity around the football club. That happened when I was at Arsenal and Inter Milan...what's really important now is that as a football club and a team, we are really strong together, believe in ourselves and go out and win games because by winning games, we will keep peace.'


The 34 year old, in contention for a starting role against Lech Poznan tonight also had this to the say about some of the hysterical reaction we've seen over Vincent Kompany and Emmanuel Adebayor's on field row against Wolves:

'Whether it's Arsenal, Juventus or France, of course players argue, that's part of the game. I don't know any big football club where they don't have character in the dressing room. Character makes you win. Character makes you go forward. All this stuff we've seen and heard over the last few days about City, I think it's something positive because it will make us improve.

'...It will make us win trophies and it's good that it's happening at the moment.'

Another completely overpaid mercenary tring to path up a team looking more and more like the joke they are in Europe.. We all know your teammates dont give a s..., they are there for the money, so shut up Viera, collect your paycheck, and lets have a laugh at watching the collection of bit players win nothing .. again..

Vieira is making very little compared to most players, you Kent-dwelling rag. Do not talk about mercenaries and overpaid, when the biggest of all, the underperforming Shrek, just conned a double-your-pay wage rise out of your club, and now O'Shea and Evra are using the parity argument to up their own wages (O'Shea to nearly 90k/week, YCMIU).

The only reason why The bitters have been able to attract any players, is because your sugardaddy is overpaying everyone of them, who is the ingorant one...The worst part is, you overpaying players who arent worth it, why because your noone with any ambition wants to play for you..

Patrick is doing his best. I'm a big fan of the guy and it's sad how little he gets to play. But i don't really agree with him. Adebayor IMO has simply got to go. He's a bad influence on the rest of the locker. Mancini must show grit.

and the lockerroom bonding will come with time. You HAVE put em all together in a very short time. In a little while though, they'll start to settle and that's when they'll become proper contenders. And that they will do, i'm sure of it.
