'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scholes Reveals Rags Desperation

As we saw last season and the outpouring of relief that followed each last minute victory over City, the rags ageing old guard are being trooped out to the hacks by Taggart...

First up this week is 43 year old Paul Scholes who alongside Gary Chuckle and Sir Alex Ferguson himself has been talking Blue with regularity since the start of the season.

But in advance of this week's potential night time powder keg, the erstwhile England man revealed a new desperation amongst the united squad with City once again threatening to upset the Norwich scarfed applecart:

'We are all desperate to stay above City. That goes for everyone. We wouldn't like City to win anything in much the same way as they wouldn't want us to win anything else.

'The fact is City are a top team. They have spent a lot of money on quality players and had a great start to the season...maybe they have come unstuck a little bit lately but form does go out of the window on occasions such as this. Anything can happen on derby night.'

There seems to be a trend developing this week as Taggart and one of his senior players give the impression that they are getting their excuses in early.

Certainly their comments are greatly toned down from the smug arrogance we have come to expect from united management, players and glory, glory supporters over two decades.

Its a fair point made from scholes, he said it in a reasonable way. I would like any city player to say the same in reverse. I await chucke neville comments and reaction wednesday. Tevez will sought that boot licker out
