VMC Man Of The Match No19 Versus The Rags

The VMC Forum Posse have spoken, and it had to be a defender that took the votes with Kolo Toure again marshalling the back line with consumate ease...

Kolo's form has been transformed since he lost the captain's armband that Mark Hughes gave him and last night's performance was no exception as both himself and the classy Vincent Kompany kept the stifled rags forward line under control.

Very often during last night's Serie A Derby, Toure put his foot on the ball and exuded calm. Pablo Zabaleta and Nigel De Jong's never say die efforts also came in for praise.

28. Kolo Toure 35.29%
5. Pablo Zabaleta 29.41%

Probably does , but as I said in the Ped Report, newspapers are giving their defenders as their best players on the night so there is a bit of a paradox there

Says a lot when all the rag-fawning press are saying Vidic was MoTM for them too, although I'd have gone for Van Der Saars myself.
