Kompany Continues To Lead By Example
City's classy central defender Vincent Kompany is developing into one of football's great ambassadors and is a credit to Manchester City Football Club...
Not one of the hacks or media pundits desperate to realise a City implosion covered the news last week that the giant Belgian international bought 125 tickets for children and their carers from Manchester childrens homes to attend the derby at Eastlands last week.
Vinnie, already an ambassador for SOS Children's Villages has his own charity and made dreams come true for those kids at one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

It's often easy to forget that VK, for many City's skipper in all but name, is still only 24 years old, yet he has become one of those players who's presence on the team sheet guarantees reassurance.

Thing is, Vincent cost City practically nothing and is a good player and a good guy. Sadly that is not tabloid news.
He simply proves you don't have to spend shedloads of loot to get a good footballer. You just need someone with application and desire. Vincent even reads books in English to improve an already excellent command of the language.
Also when I was in Hamburg in 2009 I was talking to Martin Jol who was then HSVs manager. He told me that the best 2 players he had at Hamburg are now playing for City (Kompany & De Jong) and that was a team that contained Olic (another one I'd like to see at City).
