'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Video: Post Match Interview With Owen Coyle

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle bemoaned his side's slow start in their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

'Coming to an elite club as they certainly are, having spent £300million, you certainly don't want to be chasing the game early as we were,' said Coyle.

'That was disappointing. From our point of goal we lost a soft goal. It was finished by a world-class player, which he truly is.'

'I felt for the next ten minutes they were on the front foot. They were really in the ascendancy, but they never got that second goal.

'I felt we grew into the game and started to cause them one or two problems. Not getting to our previous heights, but you have to bear in mind the quality we're up against.

'Second half Manchester City had some chances. Jussi made a couple of big saves. They've hit the woodwork, but we were always in the game.'

The Scotsman finished off by saying...

'Truth be told we could have very easily got the equaliser. As much as I don't think we got to our maximum, which we would need to come here, we were always in the game.'
