Tevez Request Rejected

Tevez Request Rejected

Manchester City have rejected Carlos Tevez's written transfer request. Club statement follows...

"It is with disappointment that we confirm to our supporters that Carlos Tevez has submitted a written transfer request. The Club can also confirm that the request has been rejected.
The Club remains disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos' representative.

Roberto Mancini and all at the Club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos' personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas. Indeed following his suspension as a result of the game against Bolton, Carlos requested, and was given, special dispensation by the Manager to take leave overseas.

The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts. Significantly, over recent months, the Club has also received numerous requests from Carlos` representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

However, in line with the Club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted. Carlos' current five-year contract has three-and-a-half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the Club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season. The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play."

Carlos is earning enough and therefore I can't see his request being money orintated. It must be family reasons.

Seismologists recorded an earthquake in the UK this morning, based on the Greater London area - caused by all the rags crawling out from under their rocks to have a pop at City. I guess if Carlos hadn't shagged that prostitute while his wife was pregnant, and hadn't questioned the ambitions of our club before accepting almost double his wages we'd be able to forgive him. Or am I thinking of someone else? One thing for certain - you won't see a bunch of balaclavaed cretins shouting death threats outside Tevez's Cheshire mansion - we're not that classy!

the club will make him stay till May and ensure city get champions league football then he can go and allow for someone new to come in for the start of next season. great player but it's the beginning of the end now and he will be purged in some way like Robinho and Bellamy were

Firm but fair stance from the club. Its official that tevez is the highest paid player at the club, his contract must have a clause that makes his wages go up when another player earns more. This requested is not motivated by cash, the man celebrates goals for his kids and constantly talks about missing them. Carlos personal life is his own doing, it isnt citys fault he cheated on his wife and shes left him. As captain he should have made a public appology to mancini for his childish behaviour at being subbed. City have bent over backwards for him recently and he got mad at utd because they werent treating him correctly. Theres no pleasing the man! Tevez should be sold in may and not now. If this news was under francis lee, thaskin shina*****ra or bernsteins regime at city, then this news would kill me. But if tevez goes, city can get another top striker or two. I still hope he stays though.

No one is bigger than the club TF7. We have the means to replace him, which we will. We showed yesterday that we don't need him. I won't be shedding any tears.
