Tevez Exit - But Who Comes In?

This is one of those nightmare articles that will make you think - what's the point of that?

The word from a much more reliable source than the likes of Joorabchian is that City have known for a while that they were going to let Tevez go, because City is on the verge of a major UNBELIEVABLE signing.

It is not thought to be any of the names being bandied about.

It could be that we are going to pay £100m for Robbie Keane - that would be unbelievable - but I understand that it is going to be a very special player indeed.

My source is sworn to secrecy, at least until City breaks the news.

So it is not all doom and gloom.

Who do you think it could be?

how about david villa from Barca to link back up with David Silva, with tevez going to other way .... I believe Silva had said that david villa wanted to play in the premier league ?

Well there have been rumours of a world record bid for Iniesta. Crazy and unlikely it seems but you have to wonder if Barca might consider doing business because they have the ready-made younger replacement in their sights - Cesc Fabregas.
StuMCFC
An unbelievable signing would be Lionel Messi
ADTilson
I like Stu's reasoning and that would be an astonishing catch. I think it's too ealry for Villa - he's won nowt with Valencia so Barca must be his medal vehicle for this season, but next season? I still think it will some one closer to home, so I'm going for Torres. He would fit in quite nicely with Silva's skills. I don't know though so please don't think that this is the answer!!
pedmachine
in order for it to be a major signing, it would have to be someone that really captures the imagination(much as i think torres is class i dont think it would be him,and i cant see messi leaving barca for us just yet) which does narrow the field down a lot,far fetched as it may seem im going to punt for (and no he wouldnt be my first choice but....... as this is merely an exercise in futility) ronaldo.

What - the old fat one?
pedmachine
Ibrahimovic - Barca don't want him, Milan can't afford him, and he wants to play in the same team as Super Mario. 9 goals in 15 games for the Rossonieri this term is nothing to be sniffed at...
fifthcolumnblue
Ibra is a good shout fcb but I could also see (like many have said before) Dzeko and possibly Luis Fabiano on your list. Villa and Torres are rediculous notions, Torres is foolish enough to be a Scouse legend even if it means being trophyless and if he were to give up being a Kop hero he would go back to Spain. Villa is having the time of his life at Barcelona and would be mad to give up their football, a fools hope to see him in the premier league i'm afraid.
TheFamousNo7
We don't want an all italian team!
ADTilson
Have to agree about Villa Famous, can't see him coming to the PL until the later stages of his career if ever. Not certain we'd want another stroppy Brazilian in our side, and Fabiano, although good, is nearing 30 now too. City recently signed a scouting agreement with Athletico, so possibly Sergio Aguerro might have cropped up in negotitations? As to Torres, I'm not so sure whether Liverpools new owners will have the same views on him as the previous dolts, particularly as he's not exactly ripping up trees for them this season. He also looks rather dissillusioned with the way things are going, so whilst he has often said he'd only return to Spain if he left the scousers, he may have changed his mind. I won't hold my breath, but would imagine City will make discreet enquiries all the same. Even a crafty £15 million bid might persuade your pauper owners to part with Berbatov eh? Just please God don't let it be Rooney in the summer!
fifthcolumnblue
I only say Fabiano because he is a short-term solution and would seemingly love to leave Sevilla.
TheFamousNo7
You could be right Famous, and there's no doubt he could do a job for us.
fifthcolumnblue
Ibrahimovich would be a good bet for you, dont rate the italian league and barca dont want him so surely he hasn't got any other options. The people saying david villa need a reality check, he is playing for the best club in the world and you think he would give city the time of day? Does he even know who you are?
P.Avfc
Yes Pavfc, his best mate David Silva just happens to play for us.
fifthcolumnblue
Villa has acknowledged us in the past but I don't think this deal is possible as he is so early into his Barcelona career and Tevez is no better and it can be argued than Villa is better as he is much more clinical. Barca do have immense debt though which is why one of their assets may be a possibility for us at some point, be it Ibra (if Milan don't cough up after his loan), Iniesta, or whoever.
StuMCFC
Hahaha, Villa leave barcelona who happen to be the best club in the world just because his best mate plays for city? Just laughable.
P.Avfc
You asked me if David Villa had ever heard of City and I answered you, not whether he'd leave Barca for us Pavfc. Do try and keep up.
fifthcolumnblue
Why not ..I believe it
terangbulan
Don't count on it fifth, P.Avfc is not that bright. Dzeko?
