'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Patrick Vieira Indicates He's MLS Bound

Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira has indicated he's had his day in top European Leagues and Major League Soccer is his only realistic option left to him.

Vieira (34) is currently in his second season at MCFC however; his first team appearances are becoming infrequent to say the least.

The former France international contract expires at the end of this season and while he's been a stalwart in the middle of the field age has finally caught up with him.

Vieira told the French media outlet the Orange Sport...

'For me, these will be the last six months in a high-level European club, and after the experience I'd like the United States.'

'I also spoke with my friend (Youri) Djorkaeff, he has played in MLS and he convinced me.'

Vieira has started just two games this season for Manchester City and has one goal to show for his efforts. Last month he expressed discontent about his current predicament, where he struggles for playing time against the likes of starters Yaya Touré and Carlos Tevez.

'Yes, of course, I'm frustrated, but I'm not the only one,' Vieira told ESPN Soccernet last month. 'When you see the squad and how big it is, of course many players will be disappointed and frustrated not to play that often.'

Age catches up with all of us Partick.

Wish we had gotten him in his pomp but dare I say it, Yaya Toure on top form is in the same talent bracket as the Vieira of old.
StuMCFC
He never set the club on fire but was a great influence on the younger players .......good luck Pat
Doody
With luck his influence on the youngsters will stick. He was a great driver and had a great engine. US of A must be the best option now.
SFC Forever
Despite his shortage of game time he has contributed a lot in terms of professionalism to City. The younger players have all seen some benefit from having him around. He can now go and stroll around in the sun in the states and keep his personal till rattling for a few seasons more.
pedmachine
He has been a big enforce in the dresing room for Mancio with his calm approach. Very good to have around. He bought a top notch pad in NYC last year near Central Park. Pires will be joining him playing in the USA.
