Edin Džeko Completes £27m Deal

Manchester City's relentless pursuit of Edin Dzeko has finally come to an end. The club's official website announced the Bosnian's arrival only minutes ago and has an exclusive interview with City's new No.10. Unfortunately, the transfer has gone through too late to enable Dzeko to play against Leicester in the FA Cup, but the twenty four year old is set to make his debut on January 15th against Wolves.

This is a great signing by the club. Dzeko is a natural finisher and is deadly with both feet. He likes to play off the last defender and is a great aerial presence, giving the likes of AJ something to aim for. Finally, he feeds off creativity and should love playing in the same side as Dave Silva.

His arrival should help the club push hard for the Premier League title and let's hope he scores against United, just like he did home and away for VfL Wolfsburg last campaign. Anyway, happy days! And a scouting report will be up soon I imagine.

More to come...

Huge signing for the club, can't wait to see him in action.
I haven't been this excited since we signed Lee Bradbury. Tick Tock.
fair play, you are now SERIOUS title contenders, awesome signing as he is an awesome player, could we have tevez please lol
Really, really, is Dzeko a huge signing that makes them serious title contenders? That is something we won't know until the end of the season. Yes, he did have an amazing season which shot him on the european stage last year but I haven't been heard of much this season.. it would be interesting to see how much he has scored this bundesliga season, he could be banging them in, I don't know, but it isn't likely with Mclaren under pressure recently. IMO he still has alot to do and will need to make a impact rather quickly if he is going to justify his 27m price tag. 27m is way OTT and I wouldn't be suprised if he turns out to be another over priced flop like robinho, elano, santa cruz etc etc. not a dig, but not sure he is the one that will make you title contenders just yet. But only time will tell...
I guess those players mentioned above did have good impacts at first, but...
Actually Cobbler, last season he got 22 goals but the season before that he got 26 so he didnt burst onto the stage last season. And this season in a struggling side he has 10 goals in 17 games so he is a proven striker ( in the bundesliga anyways) lets just hope he can carry that into the premier league!
Adz The City Man
He's 5th top goalscorer in Germany for a team not far off the bottom and in complete disarray. It's sort of like what Torres would be doing for Liverpool if Torres was still playing well.
a presence in the box finally
And there goes another if it's small change!
Was not sure about his scoring record exactly, still 10 in 17 is great for a team not doing so well this season.
Ticks all the right boxes for a Manchester City under Mancini pre new rules signing. Young, plenty of miles to go on the clock, hungry for success and medals.

Even more exciting times ahead - fantastic signing. I wonder if he'll be with the team when they travel to Leicester tomorrow? If not i'm sure he'll be sat in the stand.

why he is not on the sit
"This is a great signing by the club" - Yeah so was Robinho. Not a dig as such but I believe to rate someone as great before they've even touched a ball is silly. Yeah he is outstanding in the German league however he's not playing in the Bundesliga anymore he's playing in the Premier League, a much more competitive, faster, physically challenging league. He's got the build but whether he has got the legs and knack for it we are yet to find out.
The guy will need some time and if we can get the service to him he should bang them in
Robinho's downfalls were his own. In his first season he was one of the Premier League's top scorers and was great in all but the "cold away days" as the cliche goes. His decline at City was more to do with himself. Different between Dzeko and Robinho (or even Adebayor) is that Dzeko is proven to be a good professional and very mature. He is Bosnia's UNICEF ambassador for example and has given it 100% for Wolfsburg even in this dire season. Compare to someone like Torres who can't be bothered turning up for Liverpool and this is a vintage Mancini signing. All of Mancini's signings with one notable exception have been talented, professional, and mentally healthy players. The exception is of course Balotelli, whose mentality is in question, but he is already showing signs of maturing under Mancini's guidance again.
Sorry Famous, but if I had a fiver for ever red that bragged about how great Chimichanga was going to be before the season started I'd be a very wealthy fellow. Dzeko might not turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread, but I bet you wouldn't mind having a player of that quality sign for your team.
fcb - Chicharito WILL be great. He has 6 goals in 7 starts and cost 7 mil! Not forgetting he's coming straight from the Mexican league. Impressive wouldnt you say? Say how are the ridiculously expensive Adebarndoor and RSC doing?
about as good as carrick and berbatov are at united lol, ok berbatov has scored a few but lets not forget 8 came in just two games against poor opposition, 18m and 31m thanks very much.................... MUGS
