Edin Džeko Completes £27m Deal

Manchester City's relentless pursuit of Edin Dzeko has finally come to an end. The club's official website announced the Bosnian's arrival only minutes ago and has an exclusive interview with City's new No.10. Unfortunately, the transfer has gone through too late to enable Dzeko to play against Leicester in the FA Cup, but the twenty four year old is set to make his debut on January 15th against Wolves.

This is a great signing by the club. Dzeko is a natural finisher and is deadly with both feet. He likes to play off the last defender and is a great aerial presence, giving the likes of AJ something to aim for. Finally, he feeds off creativity and should love playing in the same side as Dave Silva.

His arrival should help the club push hard for the Premier League title and let's hope he scores against United, just like he did home and away for VfL Wolfsburg last campaign. Anyway, happy days! And a scouting report will be up soon I imagine.

More to come...

Really, really, is Dzeko a huge signing that makes them serious title contenders? That is something we won't know until the end of the season. Yes, he did have an amazing season which shot him on the european stage last year but I haven't been heard of much this season.. it would be interesting to see how much he has scored this bundesliga season, he could be banging them in, I don't know, but it isn't likely with Mclaren under pressure recently. IMO he still has alot to do and will need to make a impact rather quickly if he is going to justify his 27m price tag. 27m is way OTT and I wouldn't be suprised if he turns out to be another over priced flop like robinho, elano, santa cruz etc etc. not a dig, but not sure he is the one that will make you title contenders just yet. But only time will tell...

I guess those players mentioned above did have good impacts at first, but...

Actually Cobbler, last season he got 22 goals but the season before that he got 26 so he didnt burst onto the stage last season. And this season in a struggling side he has 10 goals in 17 games so he is a proven striker ( in the bundesliga anyways) lets just hope he can carry that into the premier league!

He's 5th top goalscorer in Germany for a team not far off the bottom and in complete disarray. It's sort of like what Torres would be doing for Liverpool if Torres was still playing well.

Was not sure about his scoring record exactly, still 10 in 17 is great for a team not doing so well this season.
