Wolves Edin For A Mauling?

New Manchester City signing Edin Dzeko is likely to make his first appearance for the Blues next weekend when the club face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 24-year-old Bosnia & Herzegovina international failed to meet yesterday's midday signing cut-off and won't be available for today's FA Cup Third Round tie at Leicester City.

With 66 goals in 111 games, the striker has had a massive impact on the German Bundesliga throughout his career with Wolfsburg, who incidentally helped win the title in 2009.

Talking about his £27m move Edin said...

'Manchester City were my first choice and only choice.'

'I was always attracted most to joining them. I have been linked with them for a long time and have watched them a lot on television.'

'They have been playing well this season and now the speculation is over, I just want to do my best.'

He continued...

'I am excited to play alongside players such as Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure, whom I have only seen on the television, and to be in the same team as players I have played against such as Jerome Boateng and Vincent Kompany. They will help me achieve my goal to be better in the future.'

'I want to show the fans why the club paid the money for me. Everyone expects goals and I want to score them but most of all I want to contribute to a successful team.'

Will be nice to have a look at him, but wouldn't expect too much so early in his City career. Won't expect all that much from him for the rest of the season TBH, as it's inevitable he'll take a while to settle in, particularly as he's moved mid-season. Anything above a handful of goals will be a pleasant surprise, although with his reputation and record who knows?

Will be good to see him in action to see what he can do. At least the Bundesliga is an attacking league, so it shouldn't take him too long to fit in.

fifthcolumnblue, couldn't agree more. I'd say 6-7 goals for him and i'll be very confident for next season. Can't help but worry about the absurd amount of players we have though.

Now we have Edin how does that leave Super Mario? I am expecting a big impact from this player, has a good shot in both pegs, so should be Ok.
