The VMC Man of The Match No. 32 versus Leicester

Ayes to the right and noes to the left? Not in this case. The VMCers have for the first time in this website's history given us a unanimous Man of The Match...

James Milner suddenly found an extra gear at The Walkers Stadium in yesterday's ding dong FA Cup clash. Playing in a central midfield role, the Yorkshireman looked the box to box allrounder we know he can be and he repeatedly took the fight to the home side. Without a doubt, had he not been out there we would have lost the game.

Milner said post match:

"It would be nice to win it for Neil Young. (City's seriously ill former centre forward). We are desperate to win a trophy - it's been a long time, and we are geared up to win things...so we will keep working hard and taking it a step at a time. That would be the ultimate way to make a tribute to Neil. We have to finish the job with Leicester first, but hopefully we can keep going."

No other City player stood out hence Milner was the only obvious choice.
tudor
Milner needs some more starts in central midfield. He clearly looks best at that spot on the field.
Hosko
Milner certainly was the only player who stood out for me, and it was no surprise that he had a decent performance in the middle of the park. I think he's done OK for us on the flanks, but would suspect we'll see a lot more of him in the middle from now on.
fifthcolumnblue
A well deserved win in an overall lack luster performance from the team..
Doody
You didn't win doody btw. And milner definitely is a centre midfielder not a winger no doubt about it, his versability is great but he needs to play central.
P.Avfc
I think he meant a well deserved win for Milner, as he is the only player in the match who seemed to exit sleepwalk mode.
StuMCFC
I understand stu.
