The VMC Man of The Match No. 36 v Notts County

The VMC Man of The Match No. 36 v Notts County

Resurgent Micah Richards was one of only two City players to emerge from the debacle at Notts County with any credit. He's the VMC Forum's Man Of The Match...

It's often easily forgotten that the England capped Micah is still only 22 years old and has 165 City league and cup starts to his name.

The powerful MCFC Academy graduate played as if his life depended upon it at Meadow Lane whilst many of his colleagues trudged through the motions.

With Juventus lurking, City would do well today to hold on to any player who shows guts and desire. Micah is still learning his trade and may still yet have a big part to play this season. Already many Blues are calling for Micah to secure the right back slot and for Jerome Boateng to move into a central role alongside Vincent Kompany.

Today we wait for news of the leg injury that saw the thundering right back forced out of the game.

It was Micah's superb run and cross that made Edin Dzeko's confidence boosting first City goal. Dzeko's efforts in the Meadow Lane swamp did not go unnoticed.

Fully deserved. If it wasn't for Micah's desire we'd be out of the cup. Hope the injury is not serious.
