not a chance, are we being greedy, because we have lost AJ and he was not a regular starter, but does make a difference when he comes on the pitch. Not sure we had enough time to replace him anyway.

Unless someone seriously good (Like Alexis Sanchez) or even Ashley Young became suddenly available then there probably wouldn't be much sense in getting someone in jus as a short-term measure. Looks like we'll have to stick with what we've got, although I'd hoped we'd bring in a decent No2 keeper so we could loet Shay go on loan to get some first team football.

Says that Liverpool approached City for Richards claiming it was a fee of 20m offered, but we turned it down.

Going to be very quiet on VMC for a while ...no longer can the rabble come on here accusing us of ruining football with our big spending after this little lot .....maybe the scousers and chelski will get a taste of it for a for the rest of the season.

So we took a break from destroying football (tongue in cheek) today, allowing Liverpool and Chelsea to take over. Spurs tried to get in on the fun too, but offering 20-40mil for every striker of note in Spain who doesn't play for Barca/Real didn't pan out. 'arry did try one of his famous last minute deals but Blackpool rejected a bid for Adam.

where are all those fans who had a go at City for big spending and accusations of buying the league and ruining football. why do they leave it till the last minute to buy, when some clubs don't have a ready replacement. A good point on ssn news last night, if a club knows they have gem in their squad, they must know that the big clubs are going to come sniffing and should have a plan in place to sign a replacement, not to have such a plan is just neglect. Liverpool knew they were going to lose Torres and already knew who they wanted. Carroll (forced out of Toons - how can that be when he hands in a transfer request)

Its not that 5th as you know, it was all the vitriol at City when they spent money, but because its Chelsea and Liverpool it's OK and the fees are 'Amazing' it just *****es me off. As much I don't like United, because Chelsea have signed a couple of good players they now think they are going to win the league, even though they are miles behind the rags, who to me have been the best team in the league. As for Liverpool being in for a Champions league place, they have a long way to go before they get that far. As fans were quick to point out to us, you can spend all the money but it does not make any guarantee of success or that fact that it is Liverpool or Chelsea, that it does and they will win every game from now until the end of the season.
