VMC Man of The Match Update

37 games into the season's campaigns and City's Spanish Sorcerer is running away with the VMCers Man of The Season title as things stand...

We love to watch creative midfielders making things happen at Manchester City and David Silva has already played his way into the fans hearts following the likes of Ian Bishop, Georgi Kinkladze and Ali Benarbia among the modern era's defensive key pickers.

If City are to realise anything this season, Silva will be pivotal in all aspirations with Adam Johnson knacked.

Against Birmingham, working in tandem with Carlos Tevez, Silva tried everything to secure three points but was hopelessly let down by some brutal performances elsewhere in the team. The VMC Forum's votes say it all for certain players.

21. David Silva 62.5%
32. Carlos Tevez 12.5%
2. Micah Richards 12.5%
4. Vincent Kompany 6.25%

He is an amazing, truly world class player but the problem is not the front three but those behind. Simply not enough pace, I do think Gareth Barry has contributed a lot but in summer I would look to replace him with a complete player like Wesley Sneijder. With a little more pace and incision in our team it would improve us so much going forward, where our sluggish midfield more than too often leads to a breakdown in pace and tempo, allowing the entire opposition to get behind the ball.
