Dublin Here We Come - Half Way Stage Update

VMC brings you all the important upcoming dates as City's quest for European glory recommences in Greece on Tuesday night...

City have reached the half way stage of the competition to reach the final in Dub.

The Citizens will play the 9th game of their Europa League campaign at Aris Thessaloniki FC on Tuesday night knowing that if they can secure a win in the Greek side's Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium fortress, then they stand a very good chance of setting up a last 16 humdinger against Beşiktaş or Dynamo Kiev.

In the words of our leader in all but armband Vincent Kompany, post derby defeat:

'This could still be a very good season for Manchester City. There is too much to look forward to for us to start thinking negatively now...OK, we have lost a game. It is three points. But it took something special for Manchester United to win it.'

Will Mancini play for a draw in Aris? They haven't lost in Europe there for over 40 years and we'll surely want to rest a few players after the derby? But this is our best chance of a cup, so what should he do, go all out?
StuMCFC
SWP and Dzeko should definitely start anyway, Kolo also can considering he warmed the bench yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that Boateng will get a start too.

Just heard we have to be on our guard for their deadly striking duo of Rolf and Anita!

We should play the best team we can. We don't want to tough a job at home. If we field a shadow team we'll get a shadow result. They're no mugs at home.

Don't underestimate these Blues. Nor their amazing earth shaking support!
Johnny Baguette
try and get the job done away so players can be rested for the home leg.

Fair Point JB I am a little nervous especially following on the heels of the Derby This won't be easy Will Mancini go for the draw?

According to our man in Thessaloniki, see above article, they are clearly capable of turning over anyone at home with that support behind them. I say we go for a win and try to silence the crowd with an early goal. That video above is spectacular starting at 3:15!
