The Original Johnno Joins City Squad For Aris Tie

Roberto Mancini has brought City midfielder Michael Johnson back into the squad for the difficult Europa League assignment at Aris Thessaloniki...

This represents a tremendous boost for Johnno who has battled back yet again from serious injury to a point where he is knocking on the door of a first team start.

Whether or not Mancio should decide to give the box to box 22 year old a run out in Aris' bog roll streamered, firecrackered cauldron remains to be seen.

In any case, outside of the injured Nigel De Jong and Adam Johnson, a strong squad is airbone for Greece as City bid to be the first rival European side in 42 years to win at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium.

City (from): Hart, Given, Taylor, Richards, Zabaleta, Boateng, K Toure, Kompany, Kolarov, Lescott, Wright-Phillips, Vieira, Y Toure, Silva, Barry, Tevez, Dzeko, Balotelli, Jo, M Johnson.

I've been following his EDS progress closely and every week he has played a little more. At first he played half the game, then around 60 minutes, and lastly around 70 minutes. Clearly not 100% match fit yet and no way will he start but that he is in the squad shows that the club still values him highly even after his injury hell. He was the best young midfielder in England before his injuries.

This is really brilliant news, I don't think he will suffer fron a runout in the 2nd half, get some first team minutes into his legs. I do wondeer that no-one from the Chgampionship came in for a loan spell for him. It would have benefitted everyone.
Buzz Lightyear
Think Leeds are still sniffing around him, think maybe Mancini wants to see what he can offer the first team before he ships him out on loan - we could certainly do with a fit MJ at the moment.
