VMC Man of The Match No 42 versus Notts County

City's crucial run of five home fixtures continues and the VMC forum posse for a second game running are delighted with the steady progress of Edin Dzeko...

The young Bosnian striker is learning all the time and putting in a shift repeatedly which Manchester City fans will always applaud. He's our Man of The Match from the FA Cup win over Notts County.

The promising signs are there that only a few games into his City career Dzeko is forging an understanding with his team mates, most notably with his strike partners Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

The genial Dzeko said after an important cup victory:

'..In the first half I played well together with Mario and we understood each other. Everyone could see it. Communication is important...Carlos has been here a long time and I am the one getting used to everything, so when I settle we will all play much better. I know I can play much better and I will work hard and show people...I can contribute to the team in other areas. Strikers are expected to score and I have two goals in eight games. When you see this, you can think it's not good but I try to work also for the team, not just to try to score. I try to assist team-mates. I am not a player who stays on the edge of the box and waits for a chance.'

It could well be that Dzeko is about to start firing at the perfect time.
